This Week in our Cluster 1. There will be another spring cleaning session for the Church. It will be in the evening of Thursday, May 21 from 6:30-8:30. Many hands make light work, all help is appreciated.
2. There is a fire lane of the West side of the Church, with pylons to remind us. Please do not park there, signs will be coming soon. 3. We will be doing a collection on Sunday, May 24 and 31st for a grad scholarship this year. If we raise enough we will split the money to make 2 scholarships. 1 for our Church (Meadow Lake, Green Lake and Waterhen) and 1 for any student from Carpenter. If you know anyone graduating this year, please let them know they can apply for this scholarship. 4. For the month of May, the Daily Rosary will be said on Monday – Friday at 6:00 pm. On Saturday and Sunday the rosary will be said 30 minutes before mass. Please come early. 5. We need volunteers for Spring cleaning for the Church on Wednesday, May 13 from 10:00 – 12:00, then from 1:30 – 4:00. If you are available to come help for a few minutes of longer – all help is greatly appreciated. Please be aware that Covid has not gone away. Please take care. Ordinary TimeWe are once again in the season of Ordinary Time.
The readings remind us of who we are as Christians and how we are invited to witness to the resurrection in our daily lives. The scriptures also follow the life of Jesus and his ministry to the People of Israel and Judah. There is no doubt that his teaching invites us to prayer and to action. As the days unfold let us remember who we are, let us gathering in faith and let us continue to make a difference in the world in which we live. When we do that, Ordinary Time becomes God's Time and every moment is touched by the Spirit and we are filled with grace. God never tires sharing with us the gift of mercy. |

Fr. Uche Umechikelu, MSPFr. Uche Umechikelu, MSP is a member of the Missionary Society of St Paul of Nigeria. Fr. Uche joined the missionaries of St Paul in October 1987, ordained Deacon in 1995 and was ordained a priest at the National Missionary seminary of St. Paul, Gwagwalada, Abuja, Nigeria on the 29th of June 1996, by Bishop Albert Obiefuna. Fr. Uche came to the Diocese of Prince Albert and to Meadow Lake cluster, to Our lady of Peace parish in Meadow Lake, Our Lady of Smile Parish in Waterhen, and St Jude Parish in Green Lake. Since his ordination, Fr Uche has served the people of God and the Missionary Society of St Paul in Nigeria and United States as a pastor, Spiritual counsellor, a seasoned preacher and in various other ways in the work of evangelization. |
